Lars Boom won the most dangerous stages in this year’s Tour de France: 95 miles in cold, wet rain over rough cobblestones. The 28-year-old from the Netherlands races for the Belkin pro cycling team. He is well known among cyclocross fans: he’s the former Dutch cyclocross national champion and he won the cyclocross world championships in 2008. No doubt his cross skills were in effect on the pavé in Northern France on Wednesday.
