Sicily’s Vicenzo Nibali, known as the “Shark of Messina,” won stage 2 at the Tour de France in Sheffield on Sunday. It was a well-deserved victory that gave the Italian national champion his first Tour stage win and put him in the yellow leader’s jersey. His talent climbing mountains has made him a grand tour champion. He won the 2013 Giro d’Italia and the 2010 the Vuelta a España, and he’s one of the favorites to win this year’s Tour de France. (He finished third in the 2012 Tour.) Nibali is 29 years old, married and lives in Lugano. He is affectionately called Nibbles. And we’d like to take one (wink)!
