Cav’s got his Mojo Back

Mark Cavendish wins second day in a row

Mark Cavendish wins Stage 6.

Mark Cavendish won today’s Stage 6 at the Tour de France– the longest stage in this year’s Tour– 142 miles from Montargis to Gueugnon.  He now has twelve Tour stage wins in his résumé, matching the records of sprint legend Mario Cipollini and three-time points winner Robbie McEwen. For a while there, we kinda thought Cav lost his legs. But there’s no doubt boy wonder is in form after winning  two stages in a row.

For the most part, today’s stage was flat– one that favors the sprinters. An early break by three riders was caught, as is almost always the case on relatively unchallenging courses.

But tomorrow the Tour presents new challenges as it enters the Alps. It should be an exciting day that could change the overall standings of the top contenders.
