The Pistol’s Generosity Shot Down in the Shack

Contador Visits RadioShack Team Bus with Gifts

Alberto Contador, the man most likely to win this year’s Tour de France, boarded Lance Armstrong’s team bus before the start of Thursday’s Stage 5. He reportedly had watches for Armstrong and team manager Johan Bruyneel, who were with him on the Astana team last year. The gifts are a tradition–  Tour champions typically give something to those who helped them win.

Fearing Contador may be a Trojan bearing gifts, Armstrong apparently ran and hid. “I was in the back of the bus. I didn’t see him,” said Armstrong. “I was in the middle of something else.”

Back of the bus? Running from Contador? Come on Lance! No need to kiss and make up with your arch rival, but you don’t have to be a poor sport.
