For once I was right. I told you yesterday that you’d again hear the name Mark Cavendish. And Cav won today’s stage of the Tour where riders pedaled 122 miles through brutal crosswinds and heat in Southern France. That’s two stage wins in a row for the world’s fastest sprinter from Great Britain. But here’s today’s real story: Lance Armstrong got away with 30 riders who finished 40 seconds ahead of the peloton (main pack), while other potential race leaders missed the train. That smart move puts Armstrong in third place in the general classification over his teammate Alberto Contador. If Armstrong’s team does well in tomorrow’s team time trial, the Texan could take the overall winner’s yellow jersey from Fabian Cancellara. Hmm… things are getting interesting!
